3 Style Trends for Fashionable Fall Hair

According to Harper’s Bazaar, “Hair is still riding the throwback train for fall 2019. The ’80s and ’90s have influenced everything from the style on ponytail to the accessories and where you place them. But there are also less bold trends to try this season—unfussy tendrils, low buns, and a fresh take on curls.”

Among the trends that most caught the attention and interest of the editors at Harper’s Bazaar were the following:

1 – ’80s Redux

“At Louis Vuitton’s fall show it was all about the 1980s,” the pros at HB say. “Hair was parted deep over to one side and styled to cover one eye.” The idea is to be reminiscent of the 1980s, not to replicate them, so go easy on the products. As HB says, “Hair should still look touchable.”

2 – Braids

If you’re thinking that braids aren’t exactly a new trend for the fall season, you’re right – and wrong. “Whether subtle and bohemian like Margot Robbie or full-on Wednesday Addams like at Prada’s fall/winter 2019 show—braids are the versatile style to wear no matter your hair type, texture, or skill level. After all, braids are a classic that never go out of style,” HB says.

  • For a fresh feel, try a sporty braid. “This is a style you can wear from the gym to the office and anywhere in-between,” HB says.

3 – Accessory Overload

“It was Gabrielle Chanel who once advised something along the lines of ‘take one accessory off before you leave the house.’ Don’t just ignore that advice for hair accessories this season—do the opposite. Add ten more sparkly baubles, clips, and pins to your hair before you head out the door,” HB says. “The more, the better.”

  • Try this from HB: “One plain bobby pin can look like you forgot to take it out of your hair while getting ready. But three? That’s a hair statement with purpose.”

More important than any trend, however, is your personal style.  What do you want to look like when you walk out of our Parma, Broadview Heights or Strongsville, Ohio salons into the crisp fall air?  Bring your dreams to Illusion Unlimited, one of the most renowned hair salons in Cleveland, Ohio, and we’ll help you make them real.
