At our hair salon in Parma, Ohio, we love being part of the communities we serve. That’s one of the joys of being a locally owned small business!
There’s a local event coming up that we wanted the clients at our Parma hair salon to know about.
If you live in Parma, gather up all the papers that have been piling up around the house, just waiting to be shredded. The City of Parma is hosting a Document Shredding & Food Drive on Saturday, May 11 from 9 am to 12 noon at Parma High School (6285 W. 54 St.).
- There’s no limit on how much material you can shred – and, even better, there’s no cost! Instead of charging for the shredding service, organizers of the event ask that you donate non-perishable food, which will be given to the Parma Hunger Center.
In addition to the papers you want to shred, make sure you have either your driver’s license or a copy of your gas or electric bill with you as proof that you are a resident of the city. Funding for the community shredding event has been provided by the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District.
Speaking of Parma, did you know that the city was originally called Greenbriar? It was settled by some folks from New England in 1816, but they must have had second thoughts about the name, because in 1826, it officially became a township named for the Italian city of Parma.
Maybe we’ll see you at the Document Shredding & Food Drive at the high school in May, but, if you have an event of your own coming up before then and want to look your best, just call our Parma hair salon – or one of our other locally owned Cleveland area hair salons!
